The inpatient rehabilitation program at UT Health East Texas is currently supported by two locums PM&R physicians while the hospital recruits for permanent employed providers. The program is actively seeking to fill both a Medical Director and a Staff PM&R Physician to establish a long-term employed team. A PM&R-trained nurse practitioner and a 24/7 hospitalist team are already in place, providing a strong clinical foundation for incoming physicians.
The rehabilitation hospital benefits from in-house hospitalist coverage around the clock, including overnight nocturnist support. This structure reduces after-hours burden on the PM&R physician and ensures patients have physician-level coverage at all times.
