The New Orleans campus does not currently carry a pediatric trauma designation. A Level II pediatric trauma rating is anticipated following the opening of the new Children’s Hospital.
Ochsner is building a new, comprehensive, dedicated Children’s Hospital on its main New Orleans campus, with an expected opening in 2028. When it opens, pediatric anesthesia will function as its own department. The new facility will include a specialized pediatric endoscopy suite and additional procedure rooms near the operating rooms.
