Meet Our Team

The Wound Care Center operates as a small, close-knit team. Staff tenure is high among the nursing personnel, which provides continuity and institutional knowledge for the incoming provider. The team has maintained strong patient follow-up practices and has driven meaningful improvement in healing rates over the past 18 months.

Notes on Current Team Composition

Sondra Bantis, ARNP is the permanent wound care provider the incoming NP will replace. Her last day has not been finalized at the time of this report. A locum provider has been bridging coverage during this transition period.

Loretta Ruiz, RN is the charge nurse and has been with the wound care program for approximately seven years. She manages the HBO chamber and monitors patients throughout treatment. She does not leave the patient's side during chamber sessions. Loretta is a tenured member of the team and is covered under the Washington State nurses union. Leadership has identified building a strong working relationship between the incoming provider and Loretta as a priority. The ideal candidate will be experienced, confident, and able to establish clear clinical authority while maintaining a collaborative approach.

Alex is the floor RN who has been with the program for a period of time and is transitioning to per diem status. She will remain available on Tuesdays and Fridays. Her departure from full-time status affects scheduling capacity; under Washington State nursing staffing guidelines, the clinic is limited to 8 patients per RN per day without additional support. Leadership is working to address this coverage gap as part of the permanent hire process.

Jessica Magana is the medical office assistant who manages scheduling, patient follow-up calls, referral intake monitoring, and administrative coordination for the clinic. She monitors the referral pool multiple times daily and has been instrumental in patient outreach and retention efforts.

Clinical Support and Oversight

Audra McNair serves as the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) and interim Wound Care Director. She has been with Astria Health for ten years, most recently managing the wound care department in addition to her nursing leadership responsibilities. She is the primary point of contact for the incoming provider and is actively engaged in growing the program.
