Physicians – Experienced and Committed Leaders in GI Care

The clinic is home to seasoned gastroenterologists who exemplify clinical excellence, efficiency, and team-based values.

  • Rangan Murali, MD – A compassionate gastroenterologist trained at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital with a medical degree from Coimbatore Medical College. His collaborative spirit makes him an invaluable team member and mentor.
  • Xujun Wu, MD – Trained at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, with residency at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Dr. Wu is recognized for high-volume procedural efficiency, precision in complex cases, and a team-oriented approach that supports both patient care and physician development.

Together, Dr. Murali and Dr. Wu cultivate a practice culture of growth, mentorship, and mutual respect, ensuring new physicians have the guidance and support needed to thrive.

Advanced Practice Providers – Integral to Patient Care

Two APPs are based at the main clinic and a third at a satellite location. Their role is vital in maintaining clinic flow and procedural efficiency.

  • Assist with pre- and post-procedure care to optimize throughput.
  • Perform triage and assessments, freeing physicians for procedures.
  • Lead patient education and chronic GI disease management.

These professionals function as true partners in care, contributing to a high-functioning, integrated care model.

Medical Assistants – Operational Excellence

Four experienced MAs ensure the clinic runs smoothly by supporting providers and managing procedural flow. They are engaged, fast-paced, and highly capable.

  • Handle patient check-ins, vitals, and room prep.
  • Support procedure setup and post-procedure follow-up.
  • Provide hands-on assistance during in-office diagnostics.

Support Staff – Administrative Backbone

The administrative team allows physicians to focus on patient care by handling essential logistics.

  • Schedulers – Balance clinic and procedure loads efficiently.
  • Financial counselor – Assists patients with insurance and financial planning.
  • Pre-certification specialists – Ensure timely approvals to avoid delays.

A Collaborative Work Culture

Mercy GI Clinic fosters an environment of respect, teamwork, and shared success. From physicians to administrative staff, every team member plays a role in helping providers focus on exceptional GI care. New providers are welcomed into a culture that supports autonomy, innovation, and professional growth, whether early in their careers or seasoned in practice.
