Gastroenterology Opportunity – Mercy GI Clinic

This gastroenterology opportunity at Mercy GI Clinic offers a highly procedural-focused role within a hospital-employed, outpatient-based setting. The incoming physician will join a well-established team of experienced providers, benefiting from a strong referral network and a steadily growing patient volume. This role is designed to support the increasing demand for gastroenterology services while allowing flexibility to tailor the practice toward individual strengths and interests.

Practice Setting & Structure

Mercy GI Clinic operates within a large, integrated healthcare system, providing physicians with stability, administrative support, and modern medical technology. The practice ensures efficient patient throughput with a team-oriented approach to delivering high-quality care. It is well-equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, and hospital administration is receptive to investing in new equipment as needed.

The environment is collegial and patient-focused, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and efficiency. Physicians work closely with medical assistants, nurse practitioners, and support staff to streamline care. The administrative team actively works to minimize non-clinical burdens, allowing physicians to focus on procedural excellence and patient outcomes.

  • Participate in a collaborative call schedule (transitioning to 1-in-3 rotation).
  • Work in an efficiently managed clinic supported by a dedicated care team.
  • Engage in team-based patient management with shared responsibilities.
  • Benefit from a well-established referral base ensuring consistent patient flow.

Candidate Qualifications & Preferred Background

  • Committed to high-quality care and clinical efficiency.
  • Team-oriented and experienced working with APPs and support staff.
  • Ties to the Midwest or interest in community-based practice preferred.

Growth & Long-Term Opportunities

This position supports a strategic growth initiative within the GI department. With the anticipated retirement of a senior physician, the new provider has an opportunity to build a long-term presence within the practice. Hospital leadership is committed to expanding gastroenterology services, which may include additional recruitment and facility enhancements.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a physician seeking a busy, procedure-driven role within a leading healthcare system. With a strong referral base, supportive leadership, and room for clinical and professional growth, this role offers long-term fulfillment and success.
