In this role, Dr. Novello oversees quality, safety, and risk management, clinical process improvement, programmatic growth, graduate medical education, and medical staff relations. She also serves as a liaison between hospital leadership and the medical staff.
As Director of Medical Staff Operations, she enhanced physician onboarding, ensured documentation compliance, supported physician performance evaluations, and led other medical staff initiatives.
Dr. Novello continues to serve as Chief Medical Information Officer, leading initiatives including ICD-10 implementation and using clinical systems to drive quality and safety improvements. She has served as an attending physician in the Emergency Department at MedStar Franklin Square since 2009.
She is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, American College of Physicians Executives, Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems, National Hispanic Medical Association, and American College of Healthcare Executives.
