Your clinical experience at Norman Regional Health System centers on delivering comprehensive Internal Medicine care in thoughtfully designed outpatient clinics. Each location has been built or renovated to meet the needs of a growing patient population, giving you the space, technology, and support necessary to practice medicine the way you were trained. When you walk into your exam rooms each morning, you will find an environment organized for smooth patient flow, minimal administrative friction, and meaningful physician-patient interaction.
You will ease into your patient panel at a measured pace, gradually building to an average of 22 patients per day once fully ramped. Although some high-performing physicians choose to see 25 or more patients, you will never be pressured to exceed what feels appropriate for your practice style. Your rooms, tools, and staffing are calibrated to help you work efficiently without feeling rushed or overextended.
From day one, you will have your own dedicated MA or LPN who handles rooming, vitals, and initial workups. If your practice volume grows and you want more assistance, the system provides the option for an additional support person to help maintain workflow. This level of flexibility gives you the freedom to practice medicine without sacrificing efficiency or patient connection.
You also have access to a fully equipped procedure room for common in-office procedures. Clinics include onsite X-ray and lab services at several locations, and where not available, they are just minutes away.
Norman Regional invests in systems designed to make documentation easier, not harder. During your day, you have a desktop station in each room to streamline workflow and eliminate unnecessary movement. The system is currently piloting a virtual scribe program that dramatically reduces time spent typing and charting. Once fully rolled out, you will have the option to participate, allowing you to focus more deeply on your patients and less on your keyboard.
Your call responsibilities are limited to outpatient calls only and are among the lowest in the region. You will rotate call approximately once every 2 to 3 months, and even then, calls are filtered through triage to prevent unnecessary interruptions. Physicians report receiving only a handful of calls over an entire year.
You will practice in a setting designed for meaningful patient care, supported by a system that invests in tools, staff, and processes that keep your focus where it belongs.
