Clinical Scope

• Heavy emphasis on diabetes management, including uncontrolled and complex cases
• Thyroid disease diagnosis and management
• Continuous glucose monitor (CGM) program
• Insulin pump management
• Thyroid ultrasound performed in clinic
• Fine needle aspiration is not required
• Thyroid oncology cases are referred to a regional cancer center

Patient Population

Lawton Community Health Center holds a Federally Qualified Health Center designation through HRSA. The patient population reflects the community's socioeconomic diversity, with a payer mix weighted toward public insurance and sliding-scale access.

The practice serves adult patients with a high prevalence of poorly controlled diabetes and thyroid conditions. Many patients have historically had limited access to specialty care, which means the incoming physician will see patients at varying stages of disease and with significant opportunity to drive meaningful clinical improvement.

Support and Referral Infrastructure

• Dedicated MA or LPN support in clinic
• Strong internal referral base from the primary care network within the health system
• Only two endocrinologists currently practicing in the local market, creating sustained referral demand
• Regional cancer center available for complex thyroid oncology cases
