The program is growing with purpose: a fifth interventional cardiologist is planned in the near future, and the structural heart and cardiac surgery programs are expanding alongside increased case volume. This is a growth position within a well-resourced, physician-led health system that has served Eastern Kentucky since 1899 and joined the University of Kentucky Health system in 2023.
The cardiac program at UK King's Daughters is certified as a Comprehensive Heart Center of Excellence, holds TAVR accreditation, and runs one of the busiest catheterization programs in the region. The incoming interventionalist will join a collaborative team, have access to 8 cath labs, and benefit from strong APP support across both clinic and inpatient settings.

The schedule is built to ramp comfortably and grow with the physician's pace. The structure begins with dedicated block time in the cath lab and expands into a full clinic schedule.
Case volume has grown steadily at UK King's Daughters, and the existing team of three interventionalists cannot meet current demand without additional capacity. The program is actively recruiting for two additional full-time physicians: this interventional cardiologist position and a dedicated structural heart specialist. A locum is currently covering structural heart procedures while that search is active. The health system has invested in facility expansion, including a patient tower addition currently underway, and a newly remodeled emergency department that has more than doubled visit capacity. The cardiac program is positioned for continued growth, and these positions are a direct response to that demand.
