Understanding the Role
Good Shepherd Medical Center is hiring a second endocrinologist to join its growing service line in Hermiston, Oregon. The role supports ongoing program expansion and provides coverage during the staff endocrinologist's scheduled paternity leave in Fall 2026. The position is fully outpatient with no call, and Good Shepherd is open to candidates on permanent or long-term locum engagements.
Role Purpose
- Expand endocrinology access for a service population of approximately 75,000 across Umatilla and Morrow Counties
- Share patient load with the current endocrinologist and support continued program growth
- Provide continuity during the staff endocrinologist's Fall 2026 paternity leave
- Partner with the endocrinology APP and shared clinical team on a long-term care model

Qualifications
- Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism
- Active or eligible Oregon license
- General endocrinology practice scope
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage adult endocrinology, including diabetes, thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary disorders
- Share clinic volume with the existing endocrinologist
- Provide clinical coverage during scheduled physician leave
- Serve as collaborating physician for the endocrinology APP as the service line grows
- Contribute to continued program development and referral relationships within Good Shepherd Medical Group
Reporting and Service Area
The endocrinology physician reports to Good Shepherd Medical Group leadership and practices alongside Sandeep Kunwar, MD. Administrative support is provided by the practice manager and shared care coordinator. Good Shepherd Medical Center serves Hermiston and the surrounding Umatilla County region in northeastern Oregon, with a referral reach that extends into southeastern Washington and the Tri-Cities corridor.
