Your clinical experience will center on a steady mix of hematology and oncology cases, supported by a team that prioritizes efficiency and patient centered care. You will typically see around fifteen patients per day in the clinic, giving you the time and space to deliver thoughtful, personalized treatment plans rather than rushing through high volume schedules. The pathology reflects the core of community oncology, with a consistent flow of breast, lung, prostate, and general oncology cases that allow you to maintain broad expertise while developing deeper interests as you choose.
Your inpatient responsibilities remain just as balanced. When you are on call, you will care for seven to twelve hospitalized oncology patients at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, the only hospital the group covers. Because you work with a single hospital, your inpatient week feels predictable and manageable, avoiding the multi campus juggling that often drains oncologists in larger systems. Your outpatient clinic schedule is deliberately scaled down during call weeks to four or five afternoon visits, ensuring you can stay focused on your hospitalized patients without sacrificing quality or sanity.
Throughout your work, you will collaborate closely with a team of nurse practitioners and experienced clinical staff who help streamline your day, coordinate care, and support treatment plans. You will have the opportunity to shape your clinical interests within the practice’s broad patient population, all within a setting designed for longevity and sustainable practice.
Your clinical practice will feel steady, meaningful, and well supported, giving you space to deliver high quality oncology care every day.
