Physician Recruitment Process and Compensation Overview

Baylor Scott & White offers a structured three-phase compensation model designed to give new physicians income security during ramp-up while transitioning to a production-based model once they are established. The combination of a competitive guarantee, financial incentives, and a high-demand patient base creates strong earning potential from day one.

Compensation Structure by Phase

Phase Model Details
Year 1 Guarantee Fixed salary during ramp; full clinic schedule in effect
Year 2 Core/Draw Draw set at 85% of anticipated earnings based on MGMA benchmarks; physician earns upside above the draw
Year 3+ Full Production wRVU-based compensation; eat-what-you-kill model

Base Compensation

Offers start at the base salary, with flexibility to adjust based on your experience, current productivity, and market conditions.

Financial Incentives

Benefit Amount
Signing Bonus $10,000
Student Loan Support $10,000/year for 4 years ($40,000 total)
Relocation Assistance Included

Production Context

Current physicians in the group are generating approximately 10,000 to 12,000 wRVUs per year at steady state, which is above the MGMA median for general OB/GYN. With the practice booked six months out and a large volume of patients waiting for access, a new physician entering the group has a clear path to reaching full production within the guarantee period.
