Your Collaborative Team: Where Independence Meets Support

You will join a women's health practice built on collaboration rather than competition, working alongside colleagues who understand that good medicine requires both specialized expertise and team support. St Anthony Regional Hospital currently employs nine delivering providers across the facility, creating a busy obstetrical service without the overwhelming patient loads that lead to burnout.

Practice Team Structure

  • Nine total delivering providers at St Anthony Regional Hospital
  • Collaborative model with family practice colleagues who value OBGYN expertise
  • Natural referral patterns for complex cases and specialty procedures
  • Partnership with McFarland Clinic on unattached delivery coverage
  • Experienced locums providers maintained for consistent call coverage
  • 1:4 call schedule protected by locums support (not short-term emergency coverage)
  • Regional approach to women's health emphasizing collaboration over competition

Clinical Support Staff

The hospital takes a unique approach to staffing that protects your practice from excessive burden. Rather than forcing you to absorb impossible call schedules while the organization searches for additional providers, St Anthony maintains relationships with experienced locums physicians who provide consistent backup coverage.

  • Two support staff per provider (RN/MA mix)
  • Consistent team members who know your patients and practice patterns
  • RNs available for higher-level clinical assessments
  • MAs integrated for efficient outpatient workflow
  • Coverage maintained during vacations, training, and sick time
  • Staff input as your practice develops and preferences emerge

Labor and Delivery Nursing

  • Dedicated labor and delivery nursing team
  • Specialized obstetrical experience and training
  • Effective triage assessment and physician communication
  • Understand when situations require immediate notification vs. morning follow-up
  • Value physician involvement in delivery of own patients
  • Collaborative approach to patient care (not territorial nursing dynamics)
  • Shared commitment to patient-centered care and continuity

Surgical and Anesthesia Support

  • Experienced CRNAs providing consistent anesthesia care
  • Understanding of obstetrical and gynecologic needs
  • Rapid response for urgent C-sections
  • Skilled support for complex robotic gynecologic cases
  • Same anesthesia team builds familiarity and efficiency

Operating Room Team

  • OR staff trained extensively on Da Vinci Xi robotic procedures
  • Efficient room turnover between cases
  • Understanding of women's health workflows
  • Appropriate OR time allocation for OBGYN cases
  • Hospital invested in robotics specifically to support advanced procedures

Administrative Leadership and Accessibility

Perhaps the most unusual aspect of joining St Anthony's team is the genuine accessibility of hospital leadership. The CEO, CNO, and other administrators operate with an open-door policy that goes beyond corporate lip service.

  • Direct access to CEO and CNO (text message communication actually happens)
  • Problems addressed within days, not months
  • Decision-makers with actual authority to approve requests
  • No layers of corporate bureaucracy to navigate
  • Independent hospital status eliminates distant corporate approval processes
  • Equipment and resource requests handled by people who understand clinical needs
  • Physician input valued in operational decisions

The Reality of Rural Practice Culture

Working at St Anthony means practicing in an environment where you know your colleagues personally, where professional relationships develop into genuine friendships, where people support each other during difficult cases and difficult times. The team culture feels more like a close-knit group practice than a hospital employment arrangement.

  • Colleagues chose rural practice intentionally
  • Value collaboration over competition
  • Appreciate being known rather than anonymous
  • Find satisfaction in comprehensive community care
  • Measure success by patient outcomes and work-life balance
  • Professional life integrates with rather than dominates personal life

The staff at St Anthony chose to work here because they value the mission-driven approach, the manageable pace, and the genuine relationships that develop when you serve the same community across years. They will welcome you as a colleague and support your success because your success directly benefits patients they care about and a community they are invested in.
