Meet Our Team

The incoming gastroenterologist will join Centennial Gastroenterology Associates, the established GI practice within Centennial Medical Group (CMG), a division of CHI Mercy Health. The current team includes three board-certified gastroenterologists and two advanced practice providers. The group has long tenure across the support staff, a clear practice culture, and an active focus on expanding capacity through the addition of one or more gastroenterologists.

Physician Team

Dr. Petre is the practice's longest-tenured physician and anchors inpatient call coverage. Dr. Vasdev is a full-time employed gastroenterologist who contributes to clinic and endoscopy. Dr. Walker provides part-time 1099 coverage focused on procedural work, adding capacity in the endoscopy suite. The incoming gastroenterologist will share call with the established group and have the latitude to shape both their clinical mix and the practice's broader procedural strategy.

Advanced Practice Providers

Provider Role Training Highlights
Shaun McGowan, PA-C Physician Assistant (5+ years with the practice; focus on hepatology, benign anorectal disease, functional GI disorders) Undergraduate and Master's in Physician Assistant Studies at Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA)

Both APPs see clinic patients independently and have direct-scheduling authority for procedures, which keeps the physician day focused on procedural and complex case work. The APPs do not take GI call.

The leadership team is explicit about giving the incoming gastroenterologist a voice in shaping practice workflow, schedule structure, and procedural mix (including the option to perform ERCP for a candidate who wants to dabble).

The Centennial Gastroenterology practice is located at 2510 NW Edenbower Blvd, Suite 112, Roseburg, Oregon 97471. The endoscopy suite and inpatient consults are based at Mercy Medical Center, 2700 NW Stewart Parkway, Roseburg, Oregon 97471.
