Understanding the Role

Memorial Health System is recruiting a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurohospitalist to join its inpatient neuroscience program in Lawton, Oklahoma. This is a fully employed, 100% inpatient role built around consultative neurology in a collaborative hospital setting.

The health system moved from a traditional outpatient and inpatient neurology model to a dedicated Neurohospitalist program to meet rising inpatient neurology demand across Southwest Oklahoma. You would join a team focused exclusively on inpatient neurological care, with room to help shape a growing service line.

Why This Role Exists

This search is driven by two factors:

Program growth. Inpatient neurology demand continues to rise, and leadership is committed to expanding the dedicated Neurohospitalist service as a strategic priority.
Replacement. One of the two current Neurohospitalists is returning to an outpatient clinic setting, opening a seat on the established team.

Practice Setting

100% inpatient neurology, no outpatient clinic
Hospital-employed position
Dedicated Neurohospitalist role on a two-physician team
Primary inpatient neurology consultant for the health system
Consultative practice with strong interdisciplinary collaboration

Schedule

Component	Detail
Rotation	7 days on, 7 days off
Hours	7 AM to 7 PM
Time off	Approximately 26 weeks off annually
Extra coverage	Additional shifts beyond the contracted schedule are addressed within the contract

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
Newly trained or experienced physicians welcome
Comfortable practicing inpatient neurology
Comfortable interpreting EEGs
Comfortable performing lumbar punctures when needed on inpatients
Team-oriented, consultative, and collaborative
Interested in long-term program development

Reporting and Structure

You would be employed directly by Memorial Health System and work as part of the dedicated Neurohospitalist team. The organization places high value on professionalism, communication, and teamwork, and treats cultural fit as equal in importance to clinical ability.

Teaching

Teaching is optional and available for physicians interested in academics. Opportunities include working with Family Medicine residents, Emergency Medicine residents, and medical students.
