Position Overview

Understanding the Role

Hematology/Oncology | UK King's Daughters Regional Hospital | Ashland, Kentucky

UK King's Daughters Regional Hospital is adding multiple hematology/oncology physicians to its established cancer center in Ashland, Kentucky. The program is actively recruiting to meet growing patient demand, with plans to add three additional Hem/Onc providers across the near term. This is a hospital-employed, outpatient-focused position within a comprehensive cancer center that has served Eastern Kentucky for more than 80 years and is affiliated with the Markey Cancer Research Network at the University of Kentucky.

The practice model is built for quality and volume. Disease-specific focus days, a 36-chair infusion center open seven days a week, and a multidisciplinary team that includes pharmacists, dietitians, and social workers create a clinical environment where physicians can focus on direct patient care.

Why This Position Exists

Patient demand for hematology and oncology services in eastern Kentucky exceeds the capacity of the current team. The health system is expanding its cancer program and recruiting three additional providers to meet volume, reduce wait times, and expand access across a regional patient population with high disease burden and limited alternative care options within the region.
