Healthcare System Overview

An In-Depth Look into the Healthcare System

The physician is employed by AdventHealth Medical Group and practices within the AdventHealth Cancer Institute at AdventHealth Lake Nona, a new hospital campus in southeast Orlando. Three layers matter to the day-to-day: the Lake Nona campus where the clinic sits, the Cancer Institute that runs oncology across Central Florida, and the AdventHealth system behind both.

AdventHealth Lake Nona

AdventHealth Lake Nona is a 10-story, $423 million hospital on a 25-acre campus at 10999 Narcoossee Road, in the Lake Nona district known locally as Medical City. The hospital is scheduled to open in late November 2026, with the adjacent cancer center medical office building opening a few weeks ahead of it. AdventHealth has operated a freestanding emergency department in Lake Nona since 2020 and a multispecialty medical office building on Narcoossee Road, so the hospital converts an existing outpatient footprint into a full campus.

Mission and Values

AdventHealth measures health in terms of the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. Its five stated values are quality and service excellence, community well-being, high ethical standards, stewardship, and inclusiveness. The system completes a Community Health Needs Assessment for every hospital every three years and funds community programs without regard to profit. Global Missions sends team members on medical mission trips to partner hospitals abroad.

The AdventHealth Foundation, through its Central Florida chapter, funds facilities, physician recruitment, and research across the Orlando-area hospitals. The Christopher K. Glanz Chair for Bladder Cancer Research, held by the Institute's GU oncology director, was endowed through a $2.5 million foundation gift.

Community Partnerships

AdventHealth is the official health care provider of the Orlando Magic (a 35-year relationship), the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, runDisney, Florida Citrus Sports, the Orlando Solar Bears, and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, and partners with Walt Disney World Resort on guest health and wellness. The USTA and Disney relationships place the system's brand in Lake Nona and its neighboring attractions daily.
